General
Q. What are the regions?
A. 'Scotland and Northern Ireland', 'The Northwest', 'The Northeast', 'The Midlands', 'Wales and the Southwest' and 'The Southeast'.
Q. What region can I play for?
A. Any region that you have or are attending university in (full or part-time). If you have attended university in more than one region, you may choose which region to trial for. However, you can only enter trials in one region and, once you have entered the Trials for that region, may not enter trials in another region until the following academic year.
Q. What teams am I eligible for?
A. Female entrants can choose to try for either the Women's Team or the Open Teams. Male entrants are entered into the Open Teams. Rankings from Trials day will determine whether you have successfully qualified for a team and whether it is the A-team or B-team. Note: see our transgender policy which can be downloaded from the home page.
Q. How many are in a team?
A. There are eleven positions in the A-team and B-team and seven positions in the Women's Team. In each team there are a number of auto pick positions (currently 4 in the A-team, 2 in the B-team and 2 in the women's team) that the Regional Director/Senior Council have determined may bypass the trials process due to exceptional ability or, occasionally, organisational contributions.
Q. Can alumni enter?
A. Alumni have been allocated a set number of places in each team (four in the A-team, four in the B-team, three in the Women's Team).

Trials
Q. Where is the trials day held?
A. Each Regional Director will find a suitable venue in each region to host the Trials day.
Q. When is the trials day?
A. The Trials day will be held between September and December at a time chosen by the Regional Director in each region in consultation with the university captains in that region.
Q. How much will trials cost?
A. Trials day costs approximately £10. Venue costs will largely determine the exact entry fee.
Q. What is the trials format?
A. The exact format may vary slightly between each region but will be decided by each Regional Director in consultation with the Trials Manager. The format will be such to give players the best opportunity to exhibit their abilities in the time available and minimising 'luck' as much as possible.
Q. How do I contact the Regional Director for my region?
A. Each Regional Director has their own email address found on the contact page.
